Kaylee gets some story-time.

Yeah, I'm tired. So fuck making a fancy name. Since I did a massive rant yesterday, go read that for more info on what I'm doing etc. So...here's a Kaylee story. It's also a Sophine story. Who's Sophine? She's in a spin-off. She'll be in Jessica's Story eventually.

  1. I installed raidcall and checked it out but there was just one person in idle mode for several hours. Maybe forums would be better? Try Ryonani, they are known to create new boards for hobby-made 18+ games.

    1. Well yeah, that's why I'm bringing up my raidcall every couple of posts, so it's not just Arty and I sitting in there. Think of the raidcall as being like an IRC, you log on and idle for a while until someone else jumps on and you start talking. Hell, I'm basically using this to replace my IRC after some unfortunate situations made it not an option.

As for a forum, that wouldn't work, I don't have enough people coming through here to justify getting a forum just for Shield High right now. Maybe if popularity kicks up after I get programming and start pushing the game again.

  2. Hey man!

What server/channel are you hanging in these days on irc? =)

    1. I bailed on irc. I now chill out in my Raidcall that Ritsuko-San/ArtemisXE was so kind to make for me. I KEEP MENTIONING IT. WHY DO PEOPLE NOT TAKE THE BLOODY HINT.

  3. Raidcall might work if you were huge, but more open and commonly used formats are better for when you're just getting started. Probably not that many people read this blog; I'm one of them and I tried the raidcall thing a few times.

The easier it is to talk to you, the more people will talk to you. Closed-source freeware tends to come with a shitload of bloaty addons these days, so it's understandable that people are less willing to install them lately.

    1. Hmm, reasonable arguments I suppose. I'm just not entirely sure what the benefit that a forum or the like could offer. With the limited amount of people coming through, would the effort to put it all together be worth it for a generally quiet forum?

Though...the forum would probably prompt me to do other things. I'll look into it.

    2. Ryonani might be a good place to look. They've been known to set up new boards for just-getting-started indie devs in the past, and schoolgirl wrestling fits with their overall theme. It would also mean instant access to a large number of people who will all be in love with your work.

The big advantage of forums over chats is that people don't have to be there at the same time to have a discussion. Also more people means more thought; it could come in handy once you start needing to fix bugs and resolve ugly quirks.
