Shield High 0.622 Release

Remember when I said there'd be a release next week? Yeah, me too. Okay so, why did this take so long? I actually did testing, that's why. Turns out one of the functions I was counting on for my event generation, which I'm using for the Andriana plot, was COMPLETELY broken. Like, it did not function at all. I ended up making a whole new method of scheduling events. And before that I struggled with the Melanie buttons. Turned out I'd forgotten to label them as having text. Good job me. Anyway, here it is, 0.622, complete with Andriana fight.

As always, glitch reports appreciated. Right now the Angel content just doesn't work, I didn't get around to setting it up for 0.62 and since then it's been nothing but bug fixing. Also, after the fight it does the flickery thing. Same basic problem as the Angel stuff, when I first did it I had time constraints and then I wanted to get this to you guys as quickly as possible. Next week at least one of those two issues will be fixed. Hopefully both so I can re-work a bit of the old Angel stuff and get it into the game in an updated state.

  1. First, w00t! an update! Second, found a bug. if I choose "Go Shopping" on the weekend, all the buttons other than log go away and I can't continue from there. and finally, any idea when you'll have a chance to add the content for what happens after the fights? that is half the fun of the game. Having Karen as your slave, or being her slave and dealing with that.

    1. Oh yeah that. I should really add an exit button to that. I should add exit buttons to all the things. As for post fight content...not too sure, I want to stop having to hard code all the things like I had to in RAGS, which means making being enslaved more of a generalized system. That means it'll be a while before I get it done, but once it's done, it'll only take small updates to make each character play nice with it. I'll probably generalize the dialogue enough, like the combat stuff, to allow it to overlap between Mistresses to create more overall variety. (For instance, 30-40 events anyone can access, instead of 3-4 unique events each). As for having slaves...that's going to be tough. I'll likely do the same thing, write a number of things you can do, write 3-4 versions of each, and then just refer to them in a generic capacity.

      All that having been said, I haven't decided if I'm leaning on making more linear content first, or adding in all of this stuff. Probably going to go to the linear content because I want to get it "caught up" in a timely manner. Well, as close to timely as I can now get given how long I've been absent.

      Speaking of being absent, this week was a killer for being busy so I haven't looked at the code yet. Will try to do it during the next week and get everything nice and neat.
