NOW IS THE TIME OF DATES. Brandi gets a new date in 0.512, and Iris has some content for if you fuck her instead of dating her. Sorry it took so long to get this out, I should be back on track for the next week, and you can expect the Jasmine fight to be ready for 0.513.

DeleteNo I haven't, I will try that right now, Also it would appear Iris has gone stalker again at least in mine she shows up to my house every night, I can avoid the scene with her but she is showing up every night (This is after I chose Fuck Her btw)

DeleteHeh, yeah Brandi is one of the trickier ones to get to. BTW for the looping, Lucy does the same thing if you subbed to her. I never mentioned it as those are all at what's now the end of the game, so I just assumed they looped because there was nothing else (better than crashing :) ).
ReplyDeleteOn the Karen stuff, on the Krystal forums I asked about those random daily scenes you get when you're someones slave (some random, some become a scripted series). As I played it again, there's no way I could get that scene with Karen where she acts like Lucy (writes on you etc.). Starting to think I imagined it lol, you sure there's no special trigger.

Just for you Tonto I reviewed my code, something which I almost never do. Turns out I was wrong, it's not a random event, it happens the first time you don't obey a random event.
DeleteAs for the Lucy thing, I have no idea what causes that, but I'll make a note of it and fix it when I can.
Cheers man, thanks (but hey, I did find that Jen scene which you had forgotten about :) ). Got it to show, yeah it's when you ignore Karen (dont' do what she asks, just leave the area instead). I had forgetten that was something you could do, as opposed to when you're given explicit options to obey or not to. Man you got special scenes for everything, cool.

DeleteAnd yeah, I'd say I aim to please with all the little extras I try and include, but that's a lie. I more aim to flatter my ego and out-do my competition. I know I'm succeeding at one of those!
Problem: I haven't seen the Iris loop. Does Lucy just remain at your house? Does the event trigger again? What happens?

Like Brandi: have no GFs at the time of Stacy battle. Once you win you have to be KIND. Then in the morning you train with Jen and she flirts. You get an option to ingore, or flirt back. Then sex scene if you do.

The Lucy loop was like the Iris one from back 0.47

Just happened automatically every time you went home.
Although I just tried it and it doesn't seem to loop. Not sure if it's just the situation I was in (girlfriends etc.), or it's fixed this release. Ignore my Lucy comment. If I find it again I'll post with exact setup to make it happen.

DeleteLet me know if the Lucy loop does happen again, odds are good it was either something I caught in a previous bug fix, or one of those weird cases where a save from an old version doesn't have variables I've added in the new version, so some content doesn't trigger properly. I've had that happen a lot with some play testers.
Thanks for the support, it really helps me do stupid stuff like try and improve the crop fight AI, which I'm doing tonight.
I don't want to worry you, but in my case loop happens with both Alison choices and most of Alison & Lucy ones (it might depend on which girl's option you chose). Lucy alone works fine it seems :D

On current content:
Brandi should have now 2 dates, right? But I got only one and the same scene triggered week later...
And Iris didn't show at all in block C after winning her. The same goes for Karen but I only noticed it after being nice and punishing her. They suddenly appeared later but I reloded and couldn't recreate it so no Iris for me this time ;)
Smaller bugs:
After first Melanie scene you have both options to pass the weekend and go to school.
You can still challange Karen (after being defeated twice) if you lost crop battle with Adriana. And winning doesn't trigger conversation with Brandi in front of gym btw, but romance still works.
On positive note, I noticed that you made Stacy's game scenes displaing correctly since last version I played :D But you should decide if her name is Lily (at home fight) or Leah (later) though.
Still it's very nice to see regular (almost) weekly progress on Shield High :)
I'll investigate this Brandi problem immediately. Problem with her being niche content is it's likely repeat bugs have existed for ages and just gone unnoticed until now.
DeleteAs for Iris, there's a new area as of a couple updates ago, just off C block, which you can't access if you load an old save, in case that's what you were doing. She should move there now, along with every other slave. This is to prevent the pauses in loading when you pass through C block.
Melanie bug will be put on the list, but it's something I need to look at as part of 0.6 really, since I'll be changing how pretty much every event works.
Also, SERIOUSLY? I DID THAT? I could have sworn I went back and checked! Oh well, continuity check is gonna be in 0.6 too, so I'll make up my mind then.
Well, bugs are common even in programs from bigger developers, so don't worry. Updating list of features could help people find possilble problems but I guess you want to spend time making new content.
ReplyDeleteIris now works. Idea with new area is very nice and honestly I don't know why I didn't notice it earlier :) Still though, Melanie, Angel, Brandi and Iris (after her sleepover) showed at the old spot in my playthroughs.
If you mean Stacy's game, yes I guess you did it. If you mean her sister's name, well it happens ;)
One question: does items you can buy at gym will have any use?

Yeah, the big problem is honestly with my poor note-keeping skills, I don't actually know what is and isn't in Shield High anymore. There's the occasional time when I'll be proof-reading something and be like "Woah, did I say that?" Now I've started taking notes to gather up all the loose ends I've thrown everywhere, so I can start tying it all up.
DeleteI can't take the credit for the idea sadly, Neki kept bugging me to do it until it got done. Thank her. As for the girlfriends showing up in the old spot, while technically a bug, I think I'll keep it this way, since they have events that trigger on entry, there won't be any missed content.
And I meant the sister's name, that's just embarassing.
The items will have a use eventually. Once the main plot is done I plan to go through an enable all the content for owning slaves. The items will be used there. As is a bunch of them work on Karen. The others just break her. It's a tricky balancing act.

I do allot of writing and I find it easier when doing (branch/choose your own) stories that using Excel works really well, You can specify what information is in which branch and so on.
